INHAND PONY CLASSES
- Class 16. Pony Brood Mare & Foal open to all breeds of pony, Judged as a unit. Kindly sponsored by Longford Tiles & Bathrooms
- Class 17. Pony Foal open to Colts and Fillies.
- Class 18. 1,2, 3 yrs. old young pony stock Gelding/Filly/ Colt.
- Class 19. 128cm shown in hand Mare/Gelding 4 yrs. & over.
- Class 20. 138cm shown in hand Mare/Gelding 4 yrs. & over.
- Class 21. 148cm shown in hand Mare/Gelding 4 yrs. & over.
- Class 22. Pure bred Welsh pony class any age Mare or Gelding.
- Class 23. Miniature Pony any age Mare or Gelding.
- Class 24. Coloured Pony of any age Mares or Gelding.
- FREE CLASS. Young Handler Leader must be 6 – 12 yr. old, Ponies must be 4yrs old or older. STRCITLY NO RINGSIDE ASSISTANCE – PRIZES IN KIND.
IN HAND CHAMPIONSHIP
In Hand Championship Open to all 1st prize-winners of the in-hand classes. Young handlers class not included in the championship. Winner will be awarded the Dan D’alton Perpetual Cup, a sash, rosette & €40, Reserve Champion will receive sash, rosette & €30.
REGISTERED CONNEMARA CLASSES
- Class 25. Connemara brood mare and foal judged as a unit.
- Class 26. Connemara foal filly or colt
- Class 27. Connemara Yearling Filly or Colt
- Class 28. 2 & 3 yr. old Colt / Gelding
- Class 29. 2 & 3 yr. old filly
CHAMPION CONNEMARA PONY
Champion Connemara Class open to all 1st prize winners of classes, winners to receive Trophy, sash, and rosette.
RIDDEN PONY CLASSES

- Class 30. Lead Rein Ponies: Kindly sponsored by the Crosby Hanley Family.
Ponies 4yrs and over not to exceed 133cm. Children strictly over 4 years and no older than 8yrs.Winner will be presented with The Crosby Hanley Cup. - Class 31. Family Lead Rein: Ponies 4 yrs. and over not to exceed 133cm.Riders must be over 4 yrs. and no older than 8yrs. All types & colours of ponies are eligible (not included in championship)
- Class 32. First Ridden Ponies: Ponies not to exceed 133cm. Rider to be under 12 yrs. Rider may be asked to canter so must be able to ride unaided.
- Class 33. Open 143cm Show Hunter Riding Class Open to mares and geldings 4 years and over, exceeding 123cm but not above 143cm. Riders 16 yrs. and under.
- Class 34. Open 153cm Show Hunter Riding Class Open to mares and geldings 4 years and over, exceeding 143cm but not above 153cm. Riders 18 yrs. and under.
- Class 35. Family Pony: Open to mares and geldings 4 years and over. Ponies not to exceed 148cm. Riders 18yrs and under. Ponies are judged on being able to do their work unfazed, suitable for a child to ride but also capable of being ridden by an adult.
- Class 36. Best Family Hunting Pony/Cob: Open to ponies 4 years and older must not exceed 153cm. Rider must be over 10 yrs. and under 18yrs. Ponies will be adjudicated on manners, obedience, and suitability to take a child hunting. Riders must show capability and control for the hunting field. Judge may ask questions on the basic rules of hunting and safety in the field. This class may be split if large entries and this class is open to all Breds and colours under 153cm. - Class 37. Open Ridden Connemara Pony. Open to Mares / Gelding, ponies 4 yrs. and older, riders 16yrs and under
- Class 38. Open Connemara Ridden Pony, open to Mares/ Geldings, ponies 4yrs and older, riders 16 yrs. and over.
CHAMPION RIDDEN PONY OF THE SHOW
Open to 1st Prize-winners in Ridden ponies excluding family lead rein.
Champion receives the John Mooney Perpetual Cup, Rosette, Sash & €40. Reserve receives sash, rosettes and €30.
